The purpose of these pages is to make signing up
for the bridge games easy and convenient.
The main signup page is signup.
The players signed up for the various games are displayed
inside a form which also allow players to sign up or change their plans.

Enter your name.

Click on
the icons of the games you want to join,
choosing above or below the line.

The Gory Details:
To sign up for one or more games:
Specify the player.
There are several ways to name the player who is signing up:
Append ?PlayerName to the URL ( * * the fastest way - see details below * * ).
Choose a name from the list provided under "Choose player". (Uses Javascript.)
Highlight a name on the page and drag it to the "Enter your name" box.
Keyboard entry or paste directly into the "Enter your name" box.
Multiple players can be signed up for the same games together.
Enter the names separated by plus signs, e.g. Rodgers+Hammerstein .
It is permitted to sign up other players.
Names must be alphanumeric without spaces,
and are converted to Titlecase (initial capital, rest lower case).
(Optional) Comments appended to player names
An underscore character can be appended to a player name,
followed by a comment such as "might be late" or "if needed".
Any characters other than comma, semi-colon, and plus
can be used in the comment text.
When deleting or moving a player within the form,
comments are not preserved, so, if desired, they must be re-entered.
Matching is done based on just the player's name.
Choose the games
Choose as few or as many games as you want to play in by
clicking on the appropriate icons
To sign up "above the line", click on .
To sign up "below the line", click on .
To un-signup (remove a player from a game), click on .
The background color of the game changes to reflect the selections.
To change between "above the line" and "below the line",
just choose the one you want, even if you are already signed up.
It is not necessary to do a delete first.
(Caveat: you then get lower priority because your signup time changes.)
To un-select a game (because you clicked it by mistake
for example), click on .
If that button is checked, or no button is checked, for a particular game,
then no action will be taken.
To reset the entire form to its original state, click .
Sign up!
When you have entered a player name and made your selections, click on
to register for the games.
The page is then updated and will include a summary of your actions.
Lather, rinse, repeat as needed.
Remember you can sign up for all games during one week in one go.
Additional information:
If you enter the page via signup?PlayerName the
input box will automatically be filled in. For convenience, you can
create a bookmark/favorite of the page with ?PlayerName appended
and then return to it directly.
Using this feature enables you to sign up for n games with just n+1 clicks:
open the page, click n icons, then click .
The controls are not displayed for past games, and those days show in gray.
The transition occurs on the day of the game, in the afternoon.
On Sunday afternoon, the current week is replaced by the following week.
You can choose to view either the previous week, the current week,
or the following week
via the "Available dates" buttons in the middle of the screen,
with signups permitted for any future game shown.
This is the list of players who appear in the
dropdown list on the
Signup page.
To add or delete a name, edit the full list and click Update.
The list of names you submit becomes the new list.
A useful precaution:
copy the existing list to the Windows clipboard before making changes,
in case you make a mistake, it will make it easier to fix.
Contacts page:
contacts.shtml shows player office locations and phone numbers.

Rankings page:
The current rankings of players are given on
rankings.shtml.
There is a built-in search function on the page.
Enter a player's name (e.g. TOM), part of a player's name (e.g. MOR),
or a pair name "JOE/BOB" and click "FIND". All matching occurrences
will be highlighted. Use the RESET button to clear the highlights,
or just do another search. For pairs, they must be listed in the
correct order, with the slash, and no spaces. Searches are not
case sensitive.
